The Sign Of The Southern Cross - Appointed Reaper

I will eclipse all that is epic
Written in stone, I will walk amongst the ancient and hallowed
For I am the appointed reaper of my time

Unwanted babe, an orphaned king
(To the world I was given up)
Thrust forth in southern suite
Unguided by prophetic doom
(Or swansong martyrdom)
I the child grew to conceit

For every man is his own
(Aspiring emperor)
Those who are of this modern ilk
Yet none will die in classic style
(As I the epitome)
For the deific quest is mine

I walk with a sledgehammer swagger
In echo of behemoth names
Obsesed with this vestige

They said
Satan, leviathan, lucifer, belial?
Who are you to sit so high
(On vanities throne?)
Simple thoughts with simple qualms
(They all have given up)
Their time is left unknown

I will eclipse all that is epic
(you will) write me in stone, I will walk amongst the ancient and hallowed
For I am the appointed reaper of my time

Through cryptic prose the despot's woes
(Were placed and divvied up)
The burden carried on
And unto me a vision burned
(Of immortality)
Having seen the endless and contentious fruit of the lamb
What man, what hero, what god
Could deny this now?

That squandered by and poisoned with
(Mediocrity)
The seeds placed in your jaws are rotting

The meek will inherit nothing

Driven by fear of fading to fields of age and decay, I recount the tale
Drowsy with feast, the earth sauntered on; the giants of old receded to bowels

Fuled by the steel, mused by the ember, man conquered beast, and then conquered himself
Akin to cain, but defeated the same, I refuse to fade into the blood of the royals
Lord, it's a mess. Take me to your breast. I know of the lore just give me hardened divine tongues
Now sitting upon a southern throne I'm championed in mountain crowns
